I think that crime/gangster films are generally aimed at teenagers and adults. This is because a lot of things that occur in crime films reflect every day life. If they do this then children wouldn’t be able to view the film because of violence or bad language. They would struggle to follow the story and pick up less subtle information that older people would. I also believe that the older generation wouldn’t wish to watch these types of film because they stereotypically don’t like violence, bad language and anything else portrayed in a crime/gangster film.
I don’t think that gender matters as much in modern day society because although crime films are generally seen as male dominated, they actually have both mixed sex interest. However gangster films are different and I think that they are more aimed at males because they tend to watch a lot of these then females.
